The Rogue Valley Humane Society
(RVHS) has participated in 8 animal hoarding rescues in 2011.
We rescued over 250 animals. It costs an average of $300+ to
care for these forgotten cats and dogs.
Thanks to a $5,000 grant from
the ASPCA, the RVHS was able to cover many veterinary expenses
connected with these hoarding rescues.
Working together with the
ASPCA we realize that when we save a cat or dog from a hoarding
situation we are helping to give these animals the new life they
deserve. Their suffering is eliminated and they get needed veterinary
care, eat nutritious food and drink clean water. They have a
safe place to stay, for as long as it takes, to find a loving
home.
When we see them become less
fearful and begin to have smiling faces we know what we are doing
is the right thing to do.
Thank you ASPCA for giving
us this grant. It helps us realize, that with your support, we
are able to fulfill our mission.
