RVHS Pavilion & Landscape Project

For those who remember the "old" shelter it was, for lack of better words, unappealing. The office was a constant mess and the exterior wasn't much better. In the last several months, after significant changes in the board of directors and shelter staff, we are now very proud of our "new" shelter.

Aside from a complete makeover on the inside, thanks to patrons who earmarked their donations for this project, and some incredible volunteers, we now have an attractive exterior with the Gary Mills Memorial Pavilion as its centerpiece.

Entering from Scenic drive our visitors are welcomed by this serene view that leads to a spacious parking lot.

The gazebo itself serves as a nice area for volunteers to spend time with the dogs either grooming them or just giving them human interaction. It is also a place to relax or hold meetings. It is open to the public during business hours.

The landscaped areas around the gazebo will eventually serve as a memorial garden. We hope patrons will find it a fitting place to pay tribute to a loved one - person or pet. The Memorial Stones will provide much needed funding for shelter operations and remain a fixture in the park for years to come.

To make our new Gazebo Pet Park even more special we are now offering custom Memorial or Honorary Stepping Stones to be placed in a prominent spot within the landscaping.
